Knights Table to Slay Rivals at Wolverhampton

March 29, 2016

Knights Table showed plenty of promise on his debut.

2.40 Wolverhampton – Knights Table

Knights Table was well supported into second favouritsm on debut over course and distance, and although running green, he showed clear signs of ability. That experience should prove valuable, and in what isn’t the strongest race, James Tate’s 3 year old Sir Percy colt can score at the second time of asking.

The market is normally fairly indicative of James Tate’s horse’s chances and Knights Table was very well backed for his first run.  The horse was pushed along at times and seemed a little clueless when coming off the bridle, but he did consent to run on eventually. Even without the anticipated improvement, he would go very close in this, and there is the good possibility that the 3 year old colt can go forward 5-10lbs.

Pushaq is the market leader and hails from the shrewd Marco Botti yard. Thrice raced, the son of Roderic O’Connor put in his best run to date when finishing second to an impressive Mark Johnston winner last time out. That effort came on the back of a winter break, and a mark of 78 seems around fair. With that being said, the horse didn’t seem to be the strongest at the finish last time out and he may lack the scope of the selection.

3.15 Wolverhampton – Charlie Lad

Charlie Lad seems a little bit of a temperamental and unpredictable type, but the son of Myboycharlie does have ability, and the race should be ridden to suit. From stall 2, he looks a value bet at odds of 6.50Bet €100 to win €65011/2Bet £100 to win £650+550Bet $100 to win $6505.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$6505.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp650-0.1818Bet RM100 to win RM650 .

A winner on his penultimate start at Lingfield, Charlie Lad bombed out over today’s course and distance, finishing down the field. Nothing seemed to go right for the horse that day and he wasn’t given an overly hard time at the end of the race. Luke Morris has been aboard for both of the horses last two runs and he will be getting to know the 4 year old gelding better with each start. A hard puller, he is likely to get a very good pace to aim at, and will be stalking the leaders, and should be able to settle better this time around.

Blue Bounty is the chief market rival, but Mark Tompkins 5 year old gelding was a winner of a very poor race at Lingfield three starts back. He is definitely consistent, but doesn’t find winning easy and there should be one too good again.
