Home Hero to Post Eighth Consecutive Top-10 Finish

October 28, 2016

Perez has finished in the top ten in 13 of 18 races this season.

Nico Rosberg could celebrate his first Formula One title at the end of Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix but one’s punting is going to focus on one of the other drivers sure to attract widespread attention at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

The Mexican Grand Prix rejoined the Formula One calendar in 2015 after a 23-year break. Sergio Perez qualified for last year’s Mexican Grand Prix in ninth place – one position ahead of his Force India colleague, Nico Hulkenberg – and he picked up two Formula One championship points for finishing the race in eighth position, one spot behind Hulkenberg. After the race, Perez, who had been on a one-stop strategy, told reporters that the safety car coming out three-quarters of the way through the content, destroyed his home hopes.

Sergio Perez is a national hero in Mexico and, with bookmakers listing him at odds of 1.40Bet €100 to win €1402/5Bet £100 to win £140-250Bet $100 to win $1400.40Bet HK$100 to win HK$140-2.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp1400.4000Bet RM100 to win RM140  to finish in the Mexican Grand Prix top 10, he is the race’s best bet.

Force India endured a frustrating start to the 2016 Formula One season with Perez and Hulkenberg posting only one points finish between them in the opening three rounds. But Force India has improved steadily throughout this year’s Formula One competition and it is pole position to end the campaign as the fourth best constructor. Perez has been a top-10 finisher in 13 of this term’s 18 Formula One races and he has collected points on each of his seven appearances. Force India is faring well because Hulkenberg has earned Formula One points in each of the last seven races that he finished.

Fernando Alonso posted his best result since joining McLaren last time out, driving the fifth car across the finish line in the United States Grand Prix. One toyed with the idea of tipping Alonso to finish in the Mexican Grand Prix points but it is worth noting that Hulkenberg, Kimi Raikkonen and Max Verstappen retired from the United States Grand Prix and, therefore, Alonso’s fifth place was flattering.

If you are looking to strike a bet on the Mexican Grand Prix winner then Lewis Hamilton is the obvious pre-qualifying pick at odds of 2.00Bet €100 to win €2001/1Bet £100 to win £200+100Bet $100 to win $2001.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$2001.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp2001.0000Bet RM100 to win RM200  with several bookmakers, including Betfred, BetVictor and Paddy Power. Hamilton had his head switched on when winning the United States of America GP last weekend and the state of the Formula One title race means that he has to go for broke but Rosberg can be conservative.

Even if Hamilton wins each of the last three Formula One races, Rosberg will secure his maiden championship provided that he register at least two second places and one third place. The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez track layout should suit the Mercedes-powered vehicles so one is expecting the Silver Arrows to dominate the front of the race and the likes of Perez and Hulkenberg to have an advantage over their non-Mercedes-powered rivals further down the grid.
