NFL Week 14 Betting Tips: Bills vs Steelers

December 10, 2016

Can Roethlisberger lead the Steelers to victory?

Week 14 of the NFL season throws up a number of important matches in the race for the post-season. Just four games remain for sides across the league either to solidify their places or make a late surge to ensure their Super Bowl dreams are kept alive.

Here we breakdown four of the most important matches taking place on Sunday, which have huge playoff ramifications at stake in all contests.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills

The Bills were on the receiving end of a heartbreaking defeat to the Oakland Raiders last week. Their running game powered by LeSean McCoy fired the AFC East outfit into a 24-9 lead in the first half, but Rex Ryan’s men failed to add another point over the final two quarters as the home side roared back to claim a 38-24 win at the Coliseum.

Pittsburgh reeled off their third win on the bounce, producing a solid victory over the New York Giants, who had entered Heinz Field on a run of six-straight wins. Mike Tomlin’s side can edge ahead of the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North by defeating the Bills, putting themselves on course for a place in the post-season.

This match will be an interesting contest as both offenses can be potent, while the defenses on either side can collapse at any moment. Buffalo’s running game will be crucial, with McCoy and Mike Gillislee having to have big games for their side to triumph, capitalising on the absence of Cameron Heyward in the middle of the Steelers’ defense.

For Tomlin’s men the soon to be All-Pro offensive duo of Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell hold the key. Should they dominate and rack up the yards with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger pulling the strings then Pittsburgh will be able to control the match. BetOnline sportsbook are backing the Steelers at 1.69Bet €100 to win €16969/100Bet £100 to win £169-145Bet $100 to win $1690.69Bet HK$100 to win HK$169-1.45Bet Rp100 to win Rp1690.6900Bet RM100 to win RM169 , but the Bills at 2.30Bet €100 to win €23013/10Bet £100 to win £230+130Bet $100 to win $2301.30Bet HK$100 to win HK$2301.30Bet Rp100 to win Rp230-0.7692Bet RM100 to win RM230 could spring a surprise especially since they’re at home.

Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts

Will Osweiler return to form?

These sides are vying for control of the AFC South, with both teams boasting a 6-6 record. The Tennessee Titans are currently in top spot due to the complex nature of the tie-breakers, but a win for either of these two teams would see them return to stop spot even if the Titans were to beat the Denver Broncos this week.

The Texans are in huge trouble in their campaign, having lost their last three matches on the bounce. Their offense has been stagnant throughout the term due to the struggles of quarterback Brock Osweiler, who has thrown only 14 touchdowns and has been wildly erratic throwing downfield. As a result, huge pressure has been put on their defense, leaving the club’s place in the post-season hanging in the balance.

Indianapolis appear to be hitting their stride after crushing the New York Jets in a 41-10 victory at MetLife Stadium. Andrew Luck returned from a concussion to carve apart the Jets with a four-touchdown performance, and should he continue the same level of displays for the final four games of the campaign that might be enough to fire the Colts into the post-season.

Luck has the ability to win the contest for Chuck Pagano’s men single-handed, even though the Texans boast a formidable defense at all levels. Houston have to win this game and due to the importance of the fixture backing them at 3.35Bet €100 to win €33547/20Bet £100 to win £335+235Bet $100 to win $3352.35Bet HK$100 to win HK$3352.35Bet Rp100 to win Rp335-0.4255Bet RM100 to win RM335 with TopBet sportsbook might be a wise option.

Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers

The Seahawks bounced back from their shocking loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by playing one of their most complete games of the season, defeating the Carolina Panthers 40-7 in their clash at CenturyLink Field.

However, the win came at a cost as All-Pro safety Earl Thomas was ruled out for the season with a broken bone in his leg. Without a major part of the ‘Legion of Boom’ Seattle’s hopes of securing a first-round bye in the playoffs have been put in jeopardy.

Green Bay have come back to life in their quest to reach the playoffs. Mike McCarthy’s men looked dead and buried after losing four-straight matches, but wins over the Philadelphia Eagles and the Houston Texans have put them back in the hunt.

More importantly for the Packers, Aaron Rodgers is beginning to look like his old self after struggling in the first half of the season. The 33-year-old is the best quarterback in the league when on form and his brilliance might just be enough to edge his side into the playoffs as a wildcard.

This match will be an exciting affair and previous contests between the sides have had no shortages of drama. However, due to Thomas’ injury, Rodgers and his offense might just be able to topple Pete Carroll’s men with odds of 2.30Bet €100 to win €23013/10Bet £100 to win £230+130Bet $100 to win $2301.30Bet HK$100 to win HK$2301.30Bet Rp100 to win Rp230-0.7692Bet RM100 to win RM230 with TopBet sportsbook.

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

McCoy will be crucial against the Saints

The Buccaneers find themselves in the wildcard position in the NFC Conference and have the same record as the current NFC South leaders the Atlanta Falcons. Tampa Bay have won their last four matches, which has included taking the scalps of two quality outfits in the form of the Seahawks and the Kansas City Chiefs, with the latter coming on the road.

Now they need to take care of business in their division and a win over the Saints could propel them into the fourth seed ahead of the Falcons.

Jameis Winston has been on form in the second half of the season, while their defense has become an extremely stout unit of late and has the ability to even halt the force of Drew Brees and Saints offense due to the quality of their recent displays.

Brees has been outstanding for New Orleans this term, but last week started to show signs that he cannot carry his team alone, throwing three interceptions in the club’s defeat to the Detroit Lions. The Saints hopes of reaching the playoffs are all but over, although a victory over the Buccaneers would give them a small chance heading into the final three games.

Tampa Bay are on a hot streak at the moment and with BetOnline sportsbook it would be hard not to back them at 1.88Bet €100 to win €18822/25Bet £100 to win £188-114Bet $100 to win $1880.88Bet HK$100 to win HK$188-1.14Bet Rp100 to win Rp1880.8800Bet RM100 to win RM188.
