Bournemouth’s Corner Odds are Cherry Ripe

January 2, 2017

Bournemouth have scored high on the corner count this season.

Bournemouth punches above its well weight in the corner-kick department so one likes the underdog odds available about the Cherries having more of them than Arsenal on Tuesday.

At the halfway stage of the English Premier League series, Bournemouth is 10th on the competition ladder. But Eddie Howe’s team ranks much higher for English Premier League corner kicks – the Cherries have taken 120 corners in their 19 divisional matches, fewer than only Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United. And it is not that Bournemouth gives away many English Premier League corner kicks, either – the Cherries have conceded 87 corners in their 19 divisional games. Bournemouth has won the corner-kick count in 13 of its 19 English Premier League matches, a record that just Manchester City can better.

Arsenal has taken 101 corner kicks and given away 81 of them in its 19 English Premier League games, resulting in the Gunners having an 11-1-7 record on the exotic most corners market. Factor in that Tuesday’s English Premier League match will take place at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium and bookmakers are incorrect to favour Arsenal over the Cherries so back the hosts at odds of 2.16Bet €100 to win €21629/25Bet £100 to win £216+116Bet $100 to win $2161.16Bet HK$100 to win HK$2161.16Bet Rp100 to win Rp216-0.8621Bet RM100 to win RM216  with 888Sport and Unibet to have more corner kicks than the Gunners.

Bournemouth and Arsenal have met three times in the English Premier League since the Cherries ascended to England’s top flight and one’s suggested wager has paid dividends in each of the last two divisional meetings of the sides, including a 10-3 road victory for Howe’s men only two months ago.

Swansea’s defence is shambolic and, therefore, 888Sport and Unibet might pay for offering odds of 2.12Bet €100 to win €21228/25Bet £100 to win £212+112Bet $100 to win $2121.12Bet HK$100 to win HK$2121.12Bet Rp100 to win Rp212-0.8929Bet RM100 to win RM212  about Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke scoring for the Eagles in the English Premier League relegation six-pointer at Selhurst Park on Tuesday.

Crystal Palace has won just one of its last 13 English Premier League games so, while one thinks that the Eagles will beat bottom-of-the-ladder Swansea, one canot make a strong argument for backing them at their odds-on quotes.

Benteke has scored eight goals in 17 English Premier League matches for Crystal Palace since switching from Liverpool, including what many Eagles fans thought would be their team’s winner at Swansea in November. Crystal Palace led Swansea 4-3 as a result of Benteke’s 84th-minute goal but the Swans netted two stoppage-time goals to prevail 5-4.

Crystal Palace is 4-4-11 in the English Premier League and Benteke has scored in three of its wins and two of its draws. Swansea has been able to shot most of the English Premier League’s big, strong centre forwards from scoring against it and Benteke, who has the skill set to be the perfect Sam Allardyce striker, fits that profile well.

Swansea has leaked three or more goals in each of its last four English Premier League games and the Swans are giving up an average of three goals per top-flight road match.

Finally, Stoke can take advantage of its softest English Premier League fixture in recent weeks and get the better of Watford in their English Premier League clash on Tuesday.

Stoke beat Watford 1-0 away and Burnley 2-0 at home before a five-game English Premier League stretch in which it hosted Southampton and Leicester and visited Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. Watford, which lost its latest English Premier League away match 0-1 at struggling Sunderland, represents a significant drop in class for Stoke and, of course, the recent head-to-head data is a plus for the Potters.

William Hill is listing odds of 1.83Bet €100 to win €18383/100Bet £100 to win £183-120Bet $100 to win $1830.83Bet HK$100 to win HK$183-1.20Bet Rp100 to win Rp1830.8300Bet RM100 to win RM183  about Stoke franking the form of its 1-0 English Premier League win at Watford two months ago when Hornets goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes put through his own net. There was a touch of fortune about Stoke’s goal but the Potters deserved their success.
