Blues, Spurs and Reds to be Premier League Top Three

January 18, 2017

Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs are the Premier League's top three.

SkyBet is operating an English Premier League combination tricast market and that is handy because one wants to back Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool to make the top three.

Triple-digit odds are available about an English Premier League combination tricast that features a team other than Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United so one is going to focus on the top six sides following 21 rounds of the popular championship.

Chelsea leads the English Premier League ladder by seven points. A negative for Chelsea is that the Blues must visit eight of the 10 English Premier League top-12 teams that they have yet to face twice but they do have home games against Arsenal and Manchester City. Also, Chelsea’s form versus English Premier League sides ranked outside the top four has been outstanding so trips to, say, Everton and West Bromwich are unlikely to cause huge headaches for the Blues. Chelsea is a lock for the English Premier League top three.

Tottenham has had its fill of Chelsea in the English Premier League so Spurs do not have to concern themselves with the Blues over the next 17 rounds. Second on the English Premier League ladder, Tottenham only has to travel to two of the top nine teams – Liverpool and Manchester City – after it did much of the hard yards before Christmas. Tottenham’s English Premier League schedule is such that Spurs ought to not only finish in the top three but also throw down the gauntlet to Chelsea. Certainly Tottenham is running into Manchester City at a time of crisis for the Citizens.

Liverpool has the best English Premier League draw of the title contenders. Liverpool just has to visit Manchester City of the English Premier League heavyweights and the Reds, which are 6-3-0 in their nine matches against sides ranked ninth or higher, do not have to do that until the middle of March. Liverpool will challenge for the English Premier League crown if it turns Anfield into a fortress.

There are strong reasons for backing Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool to end up in the English Premier League top three but not so coherent arguments for supporting Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and other teams.

Arsenal is going to struggle to make up ground from its fourth place on the English Premier League ladder. Arsenal has used up its allocation of English Premier League home games versus Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool, plus the Gunners are 1-2-3 in their half a dozen matches against sides among the magnificent seven – well, hello, Everton.

Pep Guardiola’s world is falling apart at Manchester City and it does not look like a quick fix, either. Manchester City’s English Premier League program is kinder than most but the Citizens have lost each of their three games versus Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool. Fourth position may be the best for which Guardiola and Manchester City can hope.

Manchester United is the lowest ranked of the English Premier League big six and it is five points behind Tottenham and Liverpool in second and third respectively. Manchester United’s English Premier League results have not been great – the Red Devils are 1-3-2 in their half a dozen matches against higher ranked opponents – its schedule is tough with more difficult away games than home ones.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool are 4.50Bet €100 to win €4507/2Bet £100 to win £450+350Bet $100 to win $4503.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$4503.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp450-0.2857Bet RM100 to win RM450  with SkyBet to occupy the English Premier League’s top three spots at the end of the season and that is a decent futures wager, as is backing Tottenham to make the top four at odds of 1.53Bet €100 to win €15353/100Bet £100 to win £153-189Bet $100 to win $1530.53Bet HK$100 to win HK$153-1.89Bet Rp100 to win Rp1530.5300Bet RM100 to win RM153  with Paddy Power. Some bookmakers are underestimating Tottenham when Spurs have too much excellent form in the book.
