Trubisky, Cook To Be Taken First At Their Position In NFL Draft

April 20, 2017

The NFL Draft is on the horizon and college players are anxiously awaiting their fate as to which of the 32 teams will pick them in the selection process.

Over 250 names will be called during the three days in Philadelphia, while hundreds more will sign as undrafted free agents in the hours after the event.

The Cleveland Browns own the first pick in the draft following their 1-15 campaign, with Hue Jackson’s men enjoying the whole host of talent to bolster their roster.

A number of teams are in desperate need of improvement, with the San Francisco 49ers, the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars close in behind the Browns.

Therefore there are a lot of intriguing events to transpire, which could even see movement up or down from teams in the lower reaches of the first round.

We’ll now take a look at some of those proposition bets along with the players and teams that could be potentially involved.

First Quarterback Selected

Trubisky could be selected ahead of Watson

Mitchell Trubisky and Deshaun Watson are touted as the two best options available for teams selecting a quarterback in the first round of the draft.

Watson was a proven winner during his college career with the Clemson Tigers, driving his side the length of the field in the final minute of the game against the Alabama Crimson Tide to secure the CFB Championship.

Trubisky was a one-year starter at the North Carolina Tar Heels and fared well, throwing 30 touchdowns to just six interceptions. He impressed scouts with his ability on short-range passing, although his relative inexperience could be cause for concern.

Trubisky is considered to be slightly ahead of Watson in the thoughts of sides selecting in the early stages of the draft, having been worked out personally by the San Francisco 49ers and their new head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Although, the 22-year-old had a great season for the Tar Heels, Watson has a better college career under his belt with a strong performance against the best college defense – Alabama – fresh in the minds of evaluators at all NFL teams.

Watson’s propensity to throw interceptions has counted against him, according to scouts who have spoken to NFL sides – therefore Trubisky appears to be the conventional pick to be the first quarterback selected.

As a result, taking Trubisky to be the first quarterback selected and Watson the second at 1.83Bet €100 to win €18383/100Bet £100 to win £183-120Bet $100 to win $1830.83Bet HK$100 to win HK$183-1.20Bet Rp100 to win Rp1830.8300Bet RM100 to win RM183  with TopBet sportsbook would be a prudent bet.

First Wide Receiver Selected

Mike Williams, John Ross and Corey Davis are battling to become the first wideout selected in the draft.

Williams perhaps has the best career in the college game due to his exploits with the Clemson Tigers, supported by the fact he had Watson throwing him in the ball.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in his sophomore year, notching over 1,000 receiving yards and six touchdowns. However, he missed his junior campaign after suffering a broken bone in his neck while catching touchdown pass.

Williams bounced back with an outstanding term in 2016, with over 1,300 yards and 11 scores.

He dominated against Auburn, North Carolina State and Pittsburgh, while he maintained his form throughout the season into the playoffs further enhancing reputation with important catches against Alabama in his side’s CFB title victory.

Ross broke the NFL Combine record for the 40-yard dash with a time of 4.22 seconds. His speed alone makes him an intriguing option, while he performed extremely well during his four-year career at the Washington Huskies.

He does not have the prototypical size for a first round wide receiver at 5ft 11 compared with Williams 6ft 4in frame. However, his 17 touchdowns proved that he is a distinct threat in the redzone along with the ability to make a play out of anywhere on the field.

Davis has the size and production to beat out his two rivals, although he played in the inferior league of the MAC. He was dominant with three successive terms of over 1,000 receiving yards and double digit touchdowns, but whether he will be able to translate his form to the NFL is another matter.

Therefore backing Williams to be selected first ahead of Ross and Davis at 1.67Bet €100 to win €16767/100Bet £100 to win £167-149Bet $100 to win $1670.67Bet HK$100 to win HK$167-1.49Bet Rp100 to win Rp1670.6700Bet RM100 to win RM167  with Coral would be the option to take.

First Running Back Selected

Cook excelled at Florida State

The running back position has been devalued in recent seasons, with few being selected in the first round of the draft.

However, this time around up to three players could be taken within the first 32 picks due to the talent available in the current class.

Leonard Fournette is widely considered the best of the bunch due to his outstanding performances for the LSU Tigers in his three years for the team.

He ran for over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns as a freshman before putting himself on the map by rushing for 1,953 yards and 19 touchdowns in his sophomore year.

Fournette played only seven matches last term, but still mustered 843 yards and eight touchdowns. He has the size and strength to be a lead back in the NFL and has earned comparisons with former greats of the game, with the potential to be selected inside the top 10.

Therefore the challenge ahead for the rest of the field to dislodge him is great. Joe Mixon might be the most talented physically due to his fine performances for Oklahoma, but his off-the-field behaviour should rule him out of contention even though he has high ceiling.

Dalvin Cook might have the best chance to be selected inside the top 10 due to his impressive three-year career at Florida State. He has the stats to match the exploits of Fournette and has the added threat of being able to catch the ball out of the backfield on a consistent basis.

He scored 46 touchdowns and rushed for 4,464 yards during his three seasons with Seminoles and is well worth a first round pick, with the Carolina Panthers an intriguing landing spot at eighth overall. Therefore taking the 22-year-old at 9.00Bet €100 to win €9008/1Bet £100 to win £900+800Bet $100 to win $9008.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$9008.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp900-0.1250Bet RM100 to win RM900  with 32Red sportsbook could be the option.
