Italy and Uruguay Clash an Entertaining Encounter

June 5, 2017

More internationals to look forward to on Wednesday night, and two excellent fixtures catch the eye. Italy play host to Uruguay, while Spain welcome Colombia. The Italians are likely to be without some key players who took part in Saturday’s Champions League final, but Uruguay don’t arrive in great form after a 3-1 defeat to Ireland over the weekend.

Spain were knocked out of Euro 2016 by Italy, but have won six and drawn two of eight matches since. Colombia are Wednesday night’s visitors, in another game which could prove to be very entertaining. Spain’s recent upturn in form has included wins over England, Belgium and France, and they appear to be approaching their imperious best again. Colombia are in fine fettle too, sitting 2nd in the ten-team South American qualifying section behind Brazil.

Italy v Uruguay

A price of 2.00Bet €100 to win €2001/1Bet £100 to win £200+100Bet $100 to win $2001.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$2001.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp2001.0000Bet RM100 to win RM200  with William Hill about both teams scoring in this game makes plenty of appeal.

the Italians are likely to be without much of the Juventus backline after their Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, and even without Suarez Uruguay are more than capable of scoring. They’ve found the net in each of their last six games, and each has had three or more goals. Over 2.5 goals punters might also want to take some decent prices about that outcome too. It’s also four straight defeats for Uruguay, and plenty of goals conceded. Prior to the 3-1 loss to Ireland, they suffered a 2-1 defeat in Peru, a 4-1 thrashing by Brazil, and a 3-1 thumping by Chile. A record of seven losses and just one win in the last ten games is also far from inspiring.

Italy have been highly impressive since going out of the Euros to Germany, notwithstanding a friendly defeat to France shortly after the tournament. They are joint-top of group G with Spain, on 13 points, but the Spaniards currently have the edge on goal difference. A qualifier against Liechtenstein follows this game, and the big guns are likely to be back in as Italy look to close that particular gap. The Italians have only failed to score once in their last ten games – a 0-0 draw with Germany – and thumped San Marino 8-0 last time out.

Spain v Colombia

Spain are the call at 1.58Bet €100 to win €15829/50Bet £100 to win £158-172Bet $100 to win $1580.58Bet HK$100 to win HK$158-1.72Bet Rp100 to win Rp1580.5800Bet RM100 to win RM158  with 188Bet, although Colombia are unlikely to be a pushover.

Wins in March over Ecuador and Bolivia brought to an end a four game run without victory, but Colombia are still well-poised to qualify for Russia in 2018. Brazil are clear leaders at the top of the South American qualifying section by nine points, but Colombia are 2nd with 24. The likes of Uruguay, Chile and Argentina make it a tough campaign, but all of the above could line up at the World Cup. They’ve been beaten away from home the last twice – in Argentina and Brazil, but overall have a pretty decent away profile.

Spain are hugely strong at home though, and have won each of the last five in front of Spanish fans. They’ve also scored 20 goals in those five matches, conceding only once. The likes of Liechtenstein and Macedonia may not be in Colombia’s league, but Spain are a challenge for any side on the international stage and should come out with yet another victory. A World Cup qualifier awaits away at Macedonia over the weekend, but such is the strength of the Spanish squad, they could practically play two separate teams and still come away with results.
