Foxes Fantastic Value to Outperform Potters and Baggies

June 16, 2017

Leicester are fancied to do best among teams in the midlands.

Several bookmakers have framed early markets on the top midlands side in next season’s English Premier League and one cannot see odds-against quotes about Leicester lasting.

William Hill rates Leicester as odds on to finish higher on the English Premier League ladder than both Stoke and West Bromwich and that is one’s view of the three-team clash as well.

West Bromwich would have been the winner of this English Premier League market last term when the Baggies finished 10th on the ladder with 45 points, one point more than both 12th-ranked Leicester and 13th-ranked Stoke. But now that Leicester has appointed Craig Shakespeare on a full-time basis, one thinks that the Foxes will be a stronger team than both Stoke and West Bromwich even if they are unlikely to challenge for the English Premier League title again.

The beauty of the Internet is the availability of free data and, at the click of a button, it is easy to find out that Leicester were ahead of both Stoke and West Bromwich on the five-, 10-, 15-, 20- and 25-match English Premier League form ladders last season. Form ladders, particularly those that represent the second half of a football term, are great tools for identifying betting value pertaining to a new season – Leicester went 8-3-9 for 27 points from its last 20 English Premier League games compared to Stoke’s 6-5-9 (243 points) and West Bromwich’s 6-4-10 (22 points).

Leicester looks like an English Premier League side on the up again. Shakespeare is keen to bring Oxford boss Michael Appleton to Leicester as his assistant boss and Appleton’s reputation in football is terrific. Shakespeare and Appleton know each other well from their West Bromwich coaching days. BetStars is offering odds of 2.62Bet €100 to win €26281/50Bet £100 to win £262+162Bet $100 to win $2621.62Bet HK$100 to win HK$2621.62Bet Rp100 to win Rp262-0.6173Bet RM100 to win RM262  about Leicester outperforming both of its midlands neighbours and it is worth getting stuck into this English Premier League bet.

According to one’s English Premier League collateral form figures, last term Leicester was superior to Stoke – the Foxes beat the Potters 2-0 at home and drew 2-2 on the road – and equal to West Bromwich – the Foxes lost 1-2 at home to the Baggies but they registered a 1-0 away victory. There is no doubt in one’s mind that Leicester was one of the English Premier League’s underperformers last season and that is in spite of tipping the Foxes to finish outside the top 10. And one is convinced that both Stoke and West Bromwich were lucky to finish the English Premier League as high as 10th and 13th on the ladder respectively. It will not take much for Leicester to stay ahead of Stoke and leapfrog West Bromwich and the Foxes should be the clear favourites.

Over the next couple of months one will take a weekly look at the various futures markets available on Europe’s major football leagues in the quest to unearth excellent value wagers. One thinks that Leicester should be trading at odds of around 1.80Bet €100 to win €1804/5Bet £100 to win £180-125Bet $100 to win $1800.80Bet HK$100 to win HK$180-1.25Bet Rp100 to win Rp1800.8000Bet RM100 to win RM180  to finish ahead of both Stoke and West Bromwich in next term’s English Premier League so snap up the odds of 2.62Bet €100 to win €26281/50Bet £100 to win £262+162Bet $100 to win $2621.62Bet HK$100 to win HK$2621.62Bet Rp100 to win Rp262-0.6173Bet RM100 to win RM262  that BetStars is offering before it goes.

Next season’s English Premier League fixture list is out – Leicester will kick off away to Arsenal, Stoke will visit Everton and West Bromwich will entertain Bournemouth.
