Summer Transfer Window Betting Odds and Speculation

July 6, 2017

Wayne Rooney is tipped to return to boyhood club Everton.

Wayne Rooney turned out in an Everton shirt for Duncan Ferguson’s testimonial back in 2015, and he could be pulling on the famous blue jersey of his boyhood club once again next season.

Romelu Lukaku is on the verge of signing for Manchester United for a whopping £75 million fee, and although unrelated to the Rooney talks (according to the clubs), the move could pave the way for England’s top scorer to go the other way. If it happens it will be just one of a number of massive deals expected to go through this summer, and here at Sports Betting Online we’ve been getting caught up in the rumours as we search for a few cheeky bets to keep us interested over the summer!

The Big Guns

the transfer window often plays out in such a way that the big teams get their business sorted first, before the deals dwindle down to the smaller clubs as deadline day approaches. Part of the reason may be that top tier players are waiting to see what best deal can be arranged and which top level clubs they can join, while the mid tier clubs have to wait and see if they can have a go at signing some of the players ‘left out’ of the top circle. So in that sense we’re looking at the big clubs first to see what the rumours are.

Chelsea were widely tipped to be in the running to re-sign Lukaku, and although they’ve missed out on that one it still appears that Diego Costa is on his way out of Stamford Bridge. The Spanish striker has made clear his desire to return ‘home’ to Atletico Madrid, and it is surely a matter of time until the paperwork is completed. If so, it would leave a star striker-shaped hole in Antonio Conte’s teamsheet, and one which he will be given plenty of funds to fill.

The three names being touted are Torino’s Andrea Belotti, Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The former will be well-known to Conte through his Italian connections, and is hot property after scoring 24 goals in Serie A last season. the latter was on the verge of a move to PSG earlier this year after notching 31 goals for Dortmund in the Bundesliga, but with that move off the German club are still keen to cash in. Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata was tipped for a move to Manchester United prior to Lukaku’s signing, and he may be the main target for Conte – the Spanish striker has gone on record as saying he will work with Conte ‘sooner or later’ in his career, so now could be the time. Paddy PowerBetfair and SkyBet are all offering 3.00Bet €100 to win €3002/1Bet £100 to win £300+200Bet $100 to win $3002.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$3002.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp300-0.5000Bet RM100 to win RM300  about the forward swapping the Bernabeu for Stamford Bridge.

A quick turn of the attention to goalkeepers, and BetVictor‘s 4.00Bet €100 to win €4003/1Bet £100 to win £400+300Bet $100 to win $4003.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$4003.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp400-0.3333Bet RM100 to win RM400  about David de Gea finally making the move to Real Madrid also looks worth a punt. If that deal does transpire, Manchester United will be in the market for a replacement, and might not need to look any further than the son of a former legend in Kasper Schmeichel. BetStars are listing odds of 3.50Bet €100 to win €3505/2Bet £100 to win £350+250Bet $100 to win $3502.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$3502.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp350-0.4000Bet RM100 to win RM350  about Leicester’s keeper taking up his father’s former mantle.

Arsenal have made their big summer signing in the form of £52 million pound Alexandre Lacazette, and this could pave the way for the departure of Olivier Giroud. Everton and West Ham are said to be interested parties, but the likes of Lyon, Marseille and even PSG might consider bringing the French international home.

Manchester City have already signed Bernardo Silva from Monaco and Ederson from Benfica. the signing of the latter, a goalkeeper, surely signalling the end of Joe Hart at the Citizens. Having brought Brazilian sensation Jesus to the club last term, Guardiola may not be in the market for an out-and-out striker, but may go for more talented wide players such as Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa. Tottenham’s Kyle Walker is also on the radar as City look to improve on last season’s weakness – defence.

Other Premier League Rumours

Leicester are said to have made a bid of £20 million for Watford striker and captain Tory Deeney, a number which the Hornets will find hard to turn down. However, the Foxes may also be in for Iheanacho as the youngster looks set to leave Manchester City. Burnley have had a £3 million bid accepted by Stoke for Jon Walters, but forward Andre Gray is said to have turned down a new contract, West Ham emerging as front runners to secure his signature.

If you like a real out-of-the-box punt, Nico Kranjcar is 3.00Bet €100 to win €3002/1Bet £100 to win £300+200Bet $100 to win $3002.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$3002.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp300-0.5000Bet RM100 to win RM300  to join Birmingham. Who manages the Blues? None other than Harry Redknapp who has signed Kraanjcar at almost every club he’s managed! The 32 year-old Croatian is currently plying his trade north of the border for Rangers, so he might relish the chance to hook up with his former mentor in the Championship! Peter Crouch is also just 4.00Bet €100 to win €4003/1Bet £100 to win £400+300Bet $100 to win $4003.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$4003.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp400-0.3333Bet RM100 to win RM400  to make up the old boys club, and if he plans on extending his career he might just join up with Redknapp again too.
