Neymar to Hit Target for PSG in Second Game Running

August 20, 2017

It was a dream debut for Neymar at new club PSG last weekend, as he scored and assisted in a 3-0 win at Guingamp. His home debut follows on Sunday and Toulouse are the unfortunate side to to be the opposition in what is sure to be a party atmosphere at the Parc des Princes.

Other matches on Sunday include Marseille at home to Angers and Lille at home to Caen. There’s nothing inspired about backing a pair of home wins, but sometimes it pays to follow the obvious bet. Marseille have had an ideal start to the season after a challenging year last year, and hopes of a return as title contenders are not out of the realms of possibility. Two victories without conceding a goal means that they are one of four unbeaten teams in the league so far.

Lille have won one and lost one so far, but the victory was a convincing 3-0 defeat of Nantes on home ground. That was an important result after a terrible record in front of their own fans last season, and they will be looking to continue the good work at home to Caen – a side which is yet to score a point from the opening two fixtures.

PSG v Toulouse

PSG are unsurprisingly short odds to win the match, and the only acceptable odds are on Handicaps of two or three goals. While there is no doubt the Parisians can knock four or five past anyone at their best, Toulouse may not make it easy for them. In two matches so far they’ve run Monaco close with a 3-2 defeat – the champions relying on late goals to claim the win – and they’ve scored a narrow home win over Montpellier. Also in Toulouse favour is that PSG haven’t beaten them by more than two goals in any of the last five meetings.

Of course, the attacking talent which now includes Neymar, could unpick that tight defence and rack up a big scoreline, but we’d rather back the enigmatic Brazilian to score at anytime at odds of 1.55Bet €100 to win €15511/20Bet £100 to win £155-182Bet $100 to win $1550.55Bet HK$100 to win HK$155-1.82Bet Rp100 to win Rp1550.5500Bet RM100 to win RM155  with 32Red and Unibet.

Neymar produced a glittering debut away at Guingamp last week scoring and assisting in a 3-0 victory, and he will be desperate to score on his home debut and show why the club paid a world record fee for his services. His teammates will probably be doing their utmost to get him on the scoresheet too, so it should come as no great shock to anyone if he plays a pivotal role in Sunday night’s game.

Marseille v Angers

Marseille are one of the bets of the weekend at home to Angers, with odds of 1.67Bet €100 to win €16767/100Bet £100 to win £167-149Bet $100 to win $1670.67Bet HK$100 to win HK$167-1.49Bet Rp100 to win Rp1670.6700Bet RM100 to win RM167  with Marathonbet well worth taking.

Dimitri Payet is back at the club he loves, and after the financial disasters of recent seasons there is a feeling that Marseille could become credible title contenders again. Along with Lyon, they could create a four-pronged title race against Monaco and PSG, and it could be one of the best seasons in France in some time.

Two victories so far sees Marseille fighting to maintain a 100% record and it’s hard to see them failing to score goals at home to Angers. Their opener was a comfortable 3-0 home win over Dijon with N’jie on the scoresheet twice, but they had to wait until the 87th minute to secure the points in a tight match away at Nantes last weekend. They are expected to dominate this game and play on the front foot from the off.

Angers are hoping to maintain their own unbeaten record after two games – they were held to a 2-2 draw at home on the opening day by Bordeaux, and went on to beat newly-promoted Amiens 2-0 away from home last week. This represents by far their toughest assignment to date this season though, and they are fancied to go home empty-handed.

Lille v Caen

Finally Lille should also be good things at home to Caen, at a reasonable 1.78Bet €100 to win €17839/50Bet £100 to win £178-128Bet $100 to win $1780.78Bet HK$100 to win HK$178-1.28Bet Rp100 to win Rp1780.7800Bet RM100 to win RM178  with Marathonbet.

They thumped Nantes 3-0 on the opening day of the season to get off to a cracking start, but suffered defeat at Ligue  new boys Strasbourg the following week. Three goals were conceded in the last 15 minutes in that match to put a gloss on Strasbourg’s first win since promotion. Back on home ground Lille can take care of a Caen side which has suffered two defeats from two games so far.

Both of Caen’s losses have been by 1-0 scorelines – at home to St Etienne and away at Montpellier, meaning that the club have failed to score so far this term and already find themselves in the early relegation zone. This looks like a good opportunity for Lille to push up the table in an attempt to play their way into the European places.
