Low Goal Total in Lower Saxony Bundesliga derby

September 6, 2017

Hannover beat Schalke 1-0 in the Bundesliga last week.

Wolfsburg versus Hannover is the German Bundesliga’s match of the round and Saturday’s derby throws up the best bet as well in the shape of a wager on under two and a half goals.

Three of the first four German Bundesliga games featuring either Wolfsburg or Hannover have gone under two and a half goals and, having watched the Wolves lose 0-3 at home to Dortmund in the opening round, one does not envisage them finishing the season high on the ladder. Wolfsburg managed to win 1-0 at Frankfurt before the international break but the Wolves remains a long way behind Germany’s top teams.

Hannover is back in the German Bundesliga after a season slumming it in Germany’s second division. Back-to-back 1-0 victories over Mainz and Schalke mean that Hannover has made the best possible start to its German Bundesliga campaign and, away to its biggest rival in Wolfsburg, one suspects that the Reds will play conservatively for a draw.

Only Bremen and Freiburg had fewer attempts than Wolfsburg in the first two German Bundesliga rounds and Hannover’s tally was just one higher than the Wolves. In another plus for one’s suggested bet on under two and a half goals, which is trading at odds of 1.84Bet €100 to win €18421/25Bet £100 to win £184-119Bet $100 to win $1840.84Bet HK$100 to win HK$184-1.19Bet Rp100 to win Rp1840.8400Bet RM100 to win RM184  with Marathonbet, both Wolfsburg and Hannover allowed fewer than 26 attempts across their opening two German Bundesliga matches – for example, Bayern Munchen gave up 20 and Freiburg permitted a league-high 44.

Wolfsburg humiliated Hannover 4-0 in the City of Fairs in the most recent German Bundesliga clash of the neighbours so, 18 months on from that game, one thinks that the Reds will be determined not to make life easy for the Wolves.

Like Hannover, Dortmund and Bayern Munchen have won each of their first two German Bundesliga matches and one rates them as decent wagers to extend their 100 per cent records.

Dortmund tackles Freiburg on Saturday and a repeat of last term’s German Bundesliga meetings, which ended 3-0 and 3-1 in favour of the Black and Yellows, is likely. Dortmund has beaten both Hertha and Wolfsburg without conceding a goal, having more attempts on target than every German Bundesliga side except Bayern Munchen and Leipzig at the same time as leading the division on the defensive side of the equation.

Freiburg has had two weeks to recover from its 1-4 German Bundesliga loss at Leipzig but the early signs are not good for the Brazilians of Breisgau, which has forced the fewest shots and allowed the most shots in the opening two rounds. Dortmund are 1.44Bet €100 to win €14411/25Bet £100 to win £144-227Bet $100 to win $1440.44Bet HK$100 to win HK$144-2.27Bet Rp100 to win Rp1440.4400Bet RM100 to win RM144  with Betway and William Hill to make it three wins in a row.

Bayern Munchen has a score to settle with Hoffenheim from last season in which Hoffe were the only team to get the better of Bayern over two German Bundesliga games. Bayern has strengthened its squad at the time as Hoffenheim has, understandably, had its roster weakened by clubs such as its Saturday visitor. Hoffenheim’s shock success attracted the attention of several sides with biggest wallets and the outcome was inevitable – many of Hoffe’s stars left.

Both Bayern Munchen and Hoffenheim have lined up against Bremen in the German Bundesliga this term and, according to those collateral form lines, Bayern is a couple of goals superior to Hoffenheim so the champion is worth backing at odds of 1.48Bet €100 to win €14812/25Bet £100 to win £148-208Bet $100 to win $1480.48Bet HK$100 to win HK$148-2.08Bet Rp100 to win Rp1480.4800Bet RM100 to win RM148  with Marathonbet to defeat Hoffe on the road.
