Pitbull To Crush Henderson at Bellator 183

September 21, 2017

Patricky "Pitbull" Freire

Benson Henderson vs Patricky “Pitbull” Freire

Bellator 183 Main Event – Lightweight Bout

A man with a cement-like jaw goes up against another with hands that hit like a truck in the main event of Bellator 183. Benson Henderson’s durability will be tested against Patrick “Pitbull” Freire when these two fighters stand toe-to-toe this weekend.

Benson Henderson

Record: 24-7
Height: 5’9″ (175cm)
Reach: 70.0″ (178cm)

Benson Henderson, a former UFC lightweight champion, has struggled to get it together in Bellator so far. He lost to Andrey Koreshkov in a title challenge back at Bellator 153 before he picked up a win due to injury against Patricio Freire (Patricky’s brother) at Bellator 160. Most recently. Henderson fell short against Michael Chandler at Bellator 165 as he lost by split decision in a fight that is regarded as one of the best of 2016.

Patricky “Pitbull” Freire

Record: 17-8
Height: 5’8″ (173cm)
Reach: 71.0″ (180cm)

Patricky “Pitbull” Freire has been knocking people out for a living since 2005. He’s been a feature of Bellator MMA since Bellator 36 in 2011 and has continually planted his power punches on the face of any and all opponents. After being knocked out by Michael Chandler at Bellator 157, Patricky bounced back in a big way by knocking out Josh Thomson emphatically at Bellator 172.

Breakdown

The breakdown for this one is quite simple; can Benson Henderson take Patricky Freire’s best shots?

He probably can. The problem, though, is that he may just eat too many and the damage may exponentially increase as the fight progresses. The other half of the “Pitbull” brothers, Patricio Freire, connected on Henderson’s chin plenty of times before he was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury.

What this means, however, is that it’s likely that “Pitbull” will land his vicious and fight-ending strikes on Henderson and he will need to find a way to keep upright.

If Henderson manages to stay in it, and I wouldn’t be surprised, there’s every chance that he outworks Freire and controls the fight before scoring a win on the scorecards. Again, he just needs to get there first.

Prediction and Betting Strategy

Patricky “Pitbull” Freire will land cleanly with his wrecking-ball fists and end Henderson’s night early at Bellator 183. Fortunately, the bookmakers believe Henderson will be better off, so there is great value on betting on “Pitbull” this weekend.
