Eagles To Take Control Of NFC East With Redskins Win

The Philadelphia Eagles will be aiming to take control of the NFC East when they face off against the Washington Redskins.

The Eagles moved to 5-1 in their campaign with an impressive victory on the road against the Carolina Panthers.  Carson Wentz has developed into one of the leading quarterbacks in the NFL.

Defensively, the Eagles have battled well in the secondary, despite their lack of talent. Jalen Mills and Rasul Douglas have been solid in their duties after being pressed into action following Ronald Darby’s injury.

The pass-rush has helped their cause, with Philadelphia’s defensive line creating a great deal of pressure up front. Brandon Graham leads the club with four sacks, but Chris Long, Vinny Curry, Timmy Jernigan and Cox have all been in and around opposing quarterbacks this term. Washington Redskins

The Redskins have been a confusing team to watch this season. At times they have played brilliant football, but they’ve also played their fair share of poor play. Their 3-2 record suggests that they’re an inconsistent outfit, heading towards a mediocre season.

This match is vital for turning them into contenders in the NFC East as a victory will have them on the path towards a challenge for the playoffs. Cousins’ statistics were impressive and have been throughout the term. He has made some outstanding throws in the club’s five matches, but has also made a couple of costly mistakes.

The 29-year-old put enough points on the board to secure the win over the 49ers, throwing two touchdowns although he also had an interception to his name. On his day Cousins can dissect a secondary almost single-handed, and his rapport with Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson has continued this term.
