Browns, Chargers, Chiefs All To Win In NFL Week 16

December 23, 2017

The 2017 NFL season enters its penultimate week with still a lot to play for as the battle for the remaining places in the playoffs continues.

A number of teams can take a significant step forward in their quest to reach the post-season or alternatively could see their dreams shattered.

We’ll now break down the four teams that should have in your teaser for this round of matches.

Cleveland Browns @ Chicago Bears

Kizer must rise to the occasion

The Browns are down to two contests to avoid becoming the second team in NFL history to fail to win a game in a 16-match season. Their best chance came against the Green Bay Packers two weeks ago, only to allow a fourth-quarter comeback from Brett Hundley before the Packers won the game in the overtime.

They were competitive for a brief period against the Baltimore Ravens last time out before their rivals took control of the game. Although the club’s new hierarchy has expressed confidence in head coach Hue Jackson – a woeful end to the campaign could be enough to see him fired. Therefore he has to get a performance out of his team this week as the Pittsburgh Steelers will not be in a forgiving mood in the final match of the season.

DeShone Kizer has had his moments this term, but has been too error-prone in the redzone. Should he resolve those issues, the Browns may have a chance against the Bears. Chicago are enduring another poor term and even wins in their last two matches may not be able to save John Fox from the axe. There will be pressure on his team on home soil to avoid losing to Cleveland and that could be an anchor on them on Christmas Eve.

Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has struggled in his time on the field this term, throwing three interceptions in his side’s defeat to the Detroit Lions. He has to show promise ahead of a big second season in the NFL for his development in 2018. The Browns have shown signs of life in their recent games. Back them to end their losing streak for value at odds of 3.30Bet €100 to win €33023/10Bet £100 to win £330+230Bet $100 to win $3302.30Bet HK$100 to win HK$3302.30Bet Rp100 to win Rp330-0.4348Bet RM100 to win RM330  with 888Sport.

Los Angeles Chargers @ New York Jets

The Chargers blew their opportunity to move into the post-season places, putting forward a meek performance against the Kansas City Chiefs. Anthony Lynn’s men could have taken control of the AFC West with a win over their rivals, but they were taken apart by the Chiefs and now have a huge battle on their hand to secure a wildcard berth. They need results to go in their favour to move back into the sixth seed, although Lynn’s still have the challenge of facing the Jets.

New York have not been the laughing stock many predicted this term. However with Bryce Petty at quarterback, the Chargers should be able to see out the victory. Their pass-rush has been formidable this term, with Joey Bosa notching 11.5 sacks, while Melvin Ingram has been just as active. Casey Hayward has earned a Pro Bowl nod for his coverage in the secondary. Between those three players alone there should be more than enough talent to get them over the line on the road.

Philip Rivers had a game to forget against the Chiefs, throwing three interceptions to cost his team. The Chargers need him to be flawless in their final two matches of the term to give them a chance of reaching the playoffs. He should be able to open up the Jets’ defense with ease, although the loss of Hunter Henry is a blow. Back Los Angeles to claim the road victory at odds of 1.38Bet €100 to win €13819/50Bet £100 to win £138-263Bet $100 to win $1380.38Bet HK$100 to win HK$138-2.63Bet Rp100 to win Rp1380.3800Bet RM100 to win RM138  with BetOnline.

Miami Dolphins @ Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs found their best form just at the right time to defeat the Chargers on home soil. Andy Reid’s men were in danger of dropping out of the post-season due to their woeful run of form, losing six out seven during the middle stretch of their campaign. However, they were handed a gift in the form of the Oakland Raiders, who allowed the rivals to find their form. Kansas City rediscovered their clinical edge on both sides of the ball to run out comfortable victors at Arrowhead Stadium.

They now face a Dolphins team that are looking ahead to the off-season following their defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. Adam Gase’s side gave themselves a glimmer of hope with a fine outing to defeat the Patriots on Monday Night Football. Jay Cutler played an outstanding game against New England, but was back to the player of old, throwing costly interceptions in the loss to the Bills. Miami do have the talent to pose questions of the Chiefs, but whether they are able to rouse themselves for a late effort to haul their record to .500 is another matter.

Kansas City have too much to play for to allow the playoffs to slip from their grasp. They cannot improve beyond the fourth seed, but a victory would secure the AFC West for the second year on the bounce. Back Alex Smith and company to notch the win at odds of 1.20Bet €100 to win €1201/5Bet £100 to win £120-500Bet $100 to win $1200.20Bet HK$100 to win HK$120-5.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp1200.2000Bet RM100 to win RM120  with BetOnline.

Los Angeles Rams @ Tennessee Titans

The Rams were dominant in their win over the Seattle Seahawks. Los Angeles scored 34 points in the first half alone as Todd Gurley ran all over Pete Carroll’s men, inflicting the heaviest home defeat on Seattle since 1997. Gurley’s resurgence has been one of the key factors in the Rams’ improvement under Sean McVay this term. Last season the running back struggled immensely under the tenure of Jeff Fisher, failing to build off his impressive rookie campaign.

Now the 23-year-old looks the finished article, displaying power in the run game and also a threat out of the backfield in the passing attack. His 152 yards and three touchdowns against the once-feared Seahawks’ defense was arguably the best outing of his career. If Gurley can reproduce that form against the Titans and beyond, the Rams could make a surge for the Super Bowl.

Tennessee have imploded late in the season and are in deep danger of falling out of playoff contention. The Titans became the latest victim of the Jimmy Garoppolo era in San Francisco as the 49ers closed out a narrow win over Mike Mularkey’s men at Levi’s Stadium. The club have lost their last two matches against NFC West opponents and cannot afford a third on the bounce.

Marcus Mariota has struggled immensely this season and has not been able to kick on under the coaching staff. He needs an outstanding outing even to compete with the Rams, but the pressure will be unrelenting on Sunday. Back Los Angeles for the win at odds of 1.36Bet €100 to win €1369/25Bet £100 to win £136-278Bet $100 to win $1360.36Bet HK$100 to win HK$136-2.78Bet Rp100 to win Rp1360.3600Bet RM100 to win RM136  with BetOnline.
