More Goals in Store in PSG and Real Crunch Match

March 6, 2018

PSG have been dealt a huge blow with the news that Neymar is set to miss out on their Champions League round of sixteen, second leg encounter with Real Madrid. Already trailing 3-1 from the first leg, the lack of their star player makes PSG’s task even harder. However, the Paris club is unbeaten at the Parc des Princes this season and possess many talented attackers that can step up and try to fill the Brazilian’s boots.

In other matches over the course of Tuesday and Wednesday, Liverpool and Manchester City face home legs against Porto and Basel after crushing victories away from home. Both ties should be a foregone conclusion and both English teams will expect a place in the quarter-finals.

For Tottenham it is a different story. A brilliant fightback away at Juventus saw them come away with an unlikely 2-2 draw but the second leg at Wembley is in the balance. Juventus must score to redress the away goal balance but one goal will be enough to send them through if they win. Spurs cannot afford to play for a draw and hope to progress on the away goal rule and that makes this match all the more intriguing.

PSG v Real Madrid

The first bet recommended is exactly the same as the winning tip from the first leg – Over 3.5 goals at odds of 1.86Bet €100 to win €18643/50Bet £100 to win £186-116Bet $100 to win $1860.86Bet HK$100 to win HK$186-1.16Bet Rp100 to win Rp1860.8600Bet RM100 to win RM186  with 888Sport.

After drawing 1-1 at half-time, Ronaldo added his second late in the game before Marcelo put the icing on the cake with an even later strike to make it 3-1. This time around more goals are expected, especially as PSG have only 90 minutes to stay in the competition.

At least that one away goal from Rabiot gives them hope of a turnaround. It was at this stage of last season’s competition that the French side thumped Barcelona 4-0 on this ground, and although we all know what happened in the second leg, Real Madrid can have no room for complacency. PSG have won the last 19 consecutive home games, including a 3-0 beating of Bayern Munich and Champions League stuffings of Celtic and Anderlecht.

Real are not performing in La Liga this season and trail Barcelona by a huge 15 points. They were also demoted to second place in their Champions League group, finishing behind Spurs after losing 3-1 away to the English club. There are enough reasons, despite the absence of Neymar, for PSG to feel quietly confident that they can achieve the turnaround.

If, however, the Paris club pushes forward with careless abandon, Ronaldo and Real will be quick to hit them on the break. Rather than predict the result of the match a punt on over 3.5 goals is a solid bet – particularly as the game wears on and more risks are taken.

Tottenham v Juventus

Spurs secured a great comeback to draw 2-2 at Juventus after going two goals behind early in the match, but they still have a big job on their hands in the second leg at Wembley. Once again it is no easy task to predict a result here, but both teams to score appears to be a cracking bet at 1.78Bet €100 to win €17839/50Bet £100 to win £178-128Bet $100 to win $1780.78Bet HK$100 to win HK$178-1.28Bet Rp100 to win Rp1780.7800Bet RM100 to win RM178  with 888Sport.

The task for Juve is less complicated than it is for Spurs, even if the English club is in the driving seat. The Italians know that they must score goals – a win will send them through but if it is a draw they must match Spurs’ two away goals. For Tottenham the knowledge that a 0-0 or 1-1 draw puts them into the quarter-finals must increase the temptation to keep things tight and protect what they have. However, this is not really in Pochettino’s teams’ makeup, and a change to defensive tactics could easily backfire.

Interestingly, Spurs have kept 6 clean sheets in the last 7 games at home, but Juventus haven’t failed to score in 16 away games and one suspects they will find their way onto the scoresheet on Wednesday night. Much the same as the PSG v Real fixture, the longer the game goes on here the more risks players will begin to take to avoid elimination. Both teams to score looks to be the best bet in what should be a cracking game for the neutral.

Liverpool v Porto

Finally, at short odds of 1.50Bet €100 to win €1501/2Bet £100 to win £150-200Bet $100 to win $1500.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$150-2.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp1500.5000Bet RM100 to win RM150  with BetVictor, Liverpool can win the second leg against Porto to cruise through to the quarter-finals.

The Reds are 5-0 up from the first leg after a scintillating display in Portugal and this match ought to be a routine procedure. Jurgen Klopp has already said that he only plans to make two or three changes to his side so we can expect to see a strong Liverpool team take to the field.

Porto will surely harbor few hopes of turning this tie on its head and it may be more of a damage limitation job as they exit the competition. On home soil, with a big crowd expected, the Reds can finish the job in style.
