‘Vardy to Fire the Foxes to Victory over Silva’s Toffees’

October 5, 2018

Leicester City vs Everton

Off the back of two straight wins, the Foxes are looking in fine form and will see the visit of Everton as a perfect opportunity to extend the run. A third straight Premier League win would consolidate what has been a solid start to the season, with wins already over Huddersfield, Newcastle, Wolves and Southampton.

Where Leicester have fallen a little short this season is picking up draws – they have lost to Man Utd, Liverpool and Bournemouth – and but for narrow defeats at Old Trafford and at home to league-leaders Liverpool, the Foxes would be mixing it again with the top six; just as they did in 2015/16 when they sensationally won the title.

What they will be hoping to do is to build on their excellent win away at Newcastle last week, when Jamie Vardy’s first-half penalty and Harry Maguire’s second-half eased them to a 2-0 win.

Following the summer loss of Riyad Mahrez to Man City, the Foxes have strengthened sensibly and in James Maddison – a summer arrival from Norwich City – they have an attacking midfielder who has just earned his first call-up to the England squad. The spine of the side is strong, and we expect them to make it a tough afternoon for Everton

For their part, the Toffees have had a mixed season to date, but arrive in Leicester off the back of a thumping 3-0 home win over Fulham. However, even that win was not without its moments of peril, and after a very poor first-half it took a half-time ‘rocket’ from manager Marco Silva to kick-start his team.

The Toffees’ problem, especially away from home, has been a brittleness at the back, and it’s worth noting that while they have drawn two and lost one on the road, they have conceded two goals in each game.

All of which adds up to a home win and, while football does have a habit of throwing up the unexpected, it’s hard to find a compelling case for anything else. Leicester’s home form, the narrow defeat against Liverpool aside, has been good and coupled with Everton’s propensity to concede twice on the road, it adds up to a 2-0 win for Leicester (11.50Bet €100 to win €115021/2Bet £100 to win £1150+1050Bet $100 to win $115010.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$115010.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp1150-0.0952Bet RM100 to win RM1150  at 188bet).

Also appealing, for similar reasons to above, is Jamie Vardy – at 5.50Bet €100 to win €5509/2Bet £100 to win £550+450Bet $100 to win $5504.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$5504.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp550-0.2222Bet RM100 to win RM550  with BetVictor – to score two or more goals in the game. Given his goalscoring record and form, this is well worth a look.

Fulham v Arsenal

After a sticky start to the Unai Emery era – Arsenal lost to Man City and Liverpool in their opening two league games – the Gunners have barely looked back since. A terrific run of five consecutive wins in the Premier League extends to seven if we include Europa League and Carabao Cup games (albeit this review was penned ahead of their Thursday night Europa League match in Qarabag).

The Gunners finally appear to be emerging from an Arsene Wenger-shaped shadow, and the style and philosophy is now starting to resemble that which Emery has been working on since his summer arrival. In short, they are starting finally to look like contenders again.

The harsh reality is they still remain some way off Man City and Liverpool in terms of quality and depth, but those two early-season defeats occurred when this new iteration of Arsenal was in its formative stages, and we anticipate a very difficult afternoon for the Cottagers.

While currently in fifth-place, three points against Fulham could see Emery’s men move into the top four come Sunday evening, and with Man City playing Liverpool at Anfield – also on Sunday – they potentially could be just two points off the top two. And they have an excellent record against Fulham, losing just three of their 26 fixtures against them since September 2001.

The Cottagers have made a steady start on their return to the top flight but have yet to enjoy much success against the bigger clubs, having lost to Tottenham, Manchester City and Everton. Arsenal will present a similarly tough challenge.

And they come into this game off the back of that 3-0 thumping by Everton; a scoreline that did them something of a disservice after a promising first-half. But still manager Slaviša Jokanović will be alarmed at how they fell away so poorly in the second.

Much will depend on how the Cottagers start the game, but an early goal for Arsenal – possibly through Lacazette or Aubameyang – will make for an uphill task. Fulham have picked up an unhealthy habit of conceding two goals per game, so 2-0 to the Gunner (10.50Bet €100 to win €105019/2Bet £100 to win £1050+950Bet $100 to win $10509.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$10509.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp1050-0.1053Bet RM100 to win RM1050  with 888sport) looks well worth considering.

For the same reason, we’re tempted by Aubameyang as first goalscorer at 4.50Bet €100 to win €4507/2Bet £100 to win £450+350Bet $100 to win $4503.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$4503.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp450-0.2857Bet RM100 to win RM450  with 188bet.

Liverpool v Manchester City

Liverpool v Manchester City

The clash of the Premier League’s top two is mouth-watering, with both sides having dropped just two points so far this season.

But it’s City who enter the game in slightly better fettle having won their midweek Champions League game in Hoffenheim courtesy of David Silva’s late winner. Liverpool, by contrast, were well below their best in Napoli and succumbed to a late winner in a 1-0 defeat.

Whether this will have any bearing on the weekend’s fixture is doubtful and of more concern to Pep Guardiola will be City’s terrible record at Anfield, where they have not won since May 2003 and have lost on their last six league Premier League outings.

While both sides have many attacking options, we feel of more relevance on this occasion is the fact that both sides have each conceded a miserly three Premier League goals so far. With neither wanting to give the other an inch, we can see this being a rare stalemate with them cancelling each other out, and while the 1-1 is tempting (6/1), we’re even more drawn to the goalless draw (14.50Bet €100 to win €145027/2Bet £100 to win £1450+1350Bet $100 to win $145013.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$145013.50Bet Rp100 to win Rp1450-0.0741Bet RM100 to win RM1450  with 188bet).

Given that we’re not predicting goals, for our second tip we realistically must look at some of the fun bets on offer. Therefore we’re looking at ‘to be shown a card’ and without question, Fernandinho at 2.63Bet €100 to win €263163/100Bet £100 to win £263+163Bet $100 to win $2631.63Bet HK$100 to win HK$2631.63Bet Rp100 to win Rp263-0.6135Bet RM100 to win RM263  with BetVictor looks the outstanding value on the board.
