Saints, Jaguars, Dolphins All To Win NFL Week Seven

October 19, 2018

Week seven of the 2018 NFL season has already seen a drubbing handed out by the Denver Broncos to the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football.

As the rest of the league enters the fray on Sunday, there are several teams that will be aiming to continue their meander towards the goal of reaching the playoffs.

We’ll now break down the five teams that you should have in your teaser for this week’s round of matches.

Will Brees add another record to his tally?

New Orleans Saints @ Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens are the only team that Drew Brees has failed to beat during his illustrious career. Brees has recorded victories over all 31 teams apart from Baltimore, even the Saints who he defeated during his time with the San Diego Chargers. The quarterback has the opportunity to add another achievement to his long list of accomplishments. Last time out he became the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards, surpassing Peyton Manning in the Saints’ victory over the Washington Redskins. The 39-year-old comes into the clash against the Ravens fresh off the bye week and will be eyeing guiding his team to their fifth win of the term.

New Orleans’ offense has been playing well with Brees pulling the strings, but they will face a huge challenge against John Harbaugh’s men. The Ravens notched 11 sacks of Marcus Mariota last week in their win in Tennessee. Baltimore shut out the Titans in the process of their victory, further cementing their credentials as the NFL’s best defense. Joe Flacco and company did enough to put points on the board, allowing the Ravens to canter to a comfortable win. Life will be tougher against the Saints, who will be able to expose what deficiencies are on display in the defensive unit. Back Brees and New Orleans for value at odds of 2.25Bet €100 to win €2255/4Bet £100 to win £225+125Bet $100 to win $2251.25Bet HK$100 to win HK$2251.25Bet Rp100 to win Rp225-0.8000Bet RM100 to win RM225  with TopBet.

Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars were crushed at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys last week. Jacksonville had ambitions of being the dominant side in the AFC Conference this term and appeared to be heading on that trajectory after beating the New England Patriots in week two. However, since then the club have lost three of their four matches and are in a battle to remain at the top of the AFC South. Their defense was supposed to be the foundation of their surge towards the playoffs. Doug Marrone’s men allowed 40 points to the Cowboys, one week removed from conceding 30 the Kansas City Chiefs. The unit needs to be stand up and be counted, starting with a forceful performance against the Texans and Deshaun Watson.

Houston have somehow managed to haul themselves to three wins this term without being anywhere near their best. They struggled past the Buffalo Bills last time out, needing a late interception from Jonathan Joseph to see off the AFC East side. Watson has taken a beating behind his offensive line and has had problems with injury this term. The Jaguars’ defense should be able to get to him with regularity therefore back the hosts for the win at odds of 1.49Bet €100 to win €14949/100Bet £100 to win £149-204Bet $100 to win $1490.49Bet HK$100 to win HK$149-2.04Bet Rp100 to win Rp1490.4900Bet RM100 to win RM149  with BetOnline.

Detroit Lions @ Miami Dolphins

The Lions come into the game fresh off their bye week at 2-3 in their campaign. Detroit defeated the Green Bay Packers in their last outing partly due to the shocking performance of Packers kicker Mason Crosby. Matt Patricia’s men have been solid enough in their opening five games, but whether they have the talent to defeat the Dolphins on the road is another matter. The Lions are yet to win away from Ford Field and it’s an area that Patricia will be determined to cross off his list as he seeks to turn the team into a playoff-calibre outfit.

The Lions will have watched their NFC North rivals the Chicago Bears fall to the Dolphins in Miami and will want to avoid the same fate. Even without starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill, Adam Gase’s team made the plays to defeat the Bears. Brock Osweiler stood in for Tannehill and will do so again this week. Osweiler made the throws needed to drag his team over the line. Utilising the talent around him along with stops on defense, Miami have a good chance of notching their fifth win of the term. Back them at odds of 2.40Bet €100 to win €2407/5Bet £100 to win £240+140Bet $100 to win $2401.40Bet HK$100 to win HK$2401.40Bet Rp100 to win Rp240-0.7143Bet RM100 to win RM240  with TopBet.

New England Patriots @ Chicago Bears

The Patriots proved they’re still the team to beat in the AFC Conference by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in a shootout at Gillette Stadium. Tom Brady and company put 43 points on the board, including a two-minute drill to see off a spirited fightback from Patrick Mahomes and his team-mates. The two teams appear to be on a collision course for a meeting in January, making every game now and between then important for seeding in the AFC. New England face almost a clone of the Chiefs, with their former offensive coordinator Matt Nagy now head coach with the Bears.

Bill Belichick’s men have had huge difficulty with offenses like the Chiefs as proven in their defeat in the Super Bowl to another Andy Reid disciple Doug Pederson at the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bears are in the same mould. Mitchell Trubisky has proven himself a competitor in the NFL, but whether he’s at the standard to go score-for-score with Brady is unlikely to say the least. Khalil Mack’s presence may have been able to turn the match, but considering he’s dealing with an ankle injury, back the Patriots for the win on the road at odds of 1.72Bet €100 to win €17218/25Bet £100 to win £172-139Bet $100 to win $1720.72Bet HK$100 to win HK$172-1.39Bet Rp100 to win Rp1720.7200Bet RM100 to win RM172  with BetOnline.

Cleveland Browns @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Browns failed to prove that they’re ready to take a step forward this term, receiving a hammering at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers last week. Gregg Williams’ defense that had been so solid in the opening five weeks of the season was exposed by Philip Rivers. The Chargers quarterback found Tyrell Williams in the endzone for two decisive touchdowns, while Melvin Gordon notched another three on the ground. It was a frustrating afternoon for Baker Mayfield who was stymied by Los Angeles’ defense. However, there’s a chance for them to bounce back against the Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay’s defense continued to be porous against the Atlanta Falcons last time out. As a result, defensive coordinator Mike Smith was fired, paying the price for his side’s lapses at the back. Jameis Winston showed promise throwing the ball downfield, although it came against the Falcons whose defense is almost as worse at the Bucs. There will be plays to be made for both teams, but Cleveland’s defense will be eyeing a bounce-back game. Take the Browns for the win for value on the road at odds of 2.71Bet €100 to win €271171/100Bet £100 to win £271+171Bet $100 to win $2711.71Bet HK$100 to win HK$2711.71Bet Rp100 to win Rp271-0.5848Bet RM100 to win RM271 with BetOnline.
