Falcons, Redskins, Colts All To Win NFL Week 11

Teams are starting to edge towards securing places in the playoffs as the NFL enters its 11^th week of the 2018 season.

The New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots are all looking fairly secure in their divisions and are close to clinching their spots in the post-season.

There are several sides that are in need of victories to keep their push for the playoffs alive as we approach the stretch run of the campaign. We’ll now break down the five teams that you need in your teaser for the weekend.

Dallas Cowboys @ Atlanta Falcons

The Cowboys secured a huge win over the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Their offense found life against their NFC East rivals, putting 27 points on the board. Ezekiel Elliott was influential in the win as he rushed for 151 yards on the ground and a touchdown, averaging 7.9 yards per carry.

When Elliott is on form the rest of the Dallas offense can settle into their roles. It eases the pressure on quarterback Dak Prescott, allowing him to play his natural game. It would be typical of Jason Garrett’s men to take a step back due to their issues with consistency.

Atlanta were beaten on the road by the Cleveland Browns last week, suffering a break down both sides of the ball. Baker Mayfield sliced up their defense with ease, while Matt Ryan was held in check for the first time since the early stages of the campaign.

Deion Jones will return from injury to boost the middle of the defense. His presence is huge for the Falcons, especially without Keanu Neal. Houston Texans @ Washington Redskins

The Redskins put forward a brilliant display of defense in the redzone to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last time out. Tampa Bay piled up over 500 yards of offense through the arm of Ryan Fitzpatrick, but Washington were able to hold the NFC South side to only three points on the road. Alex Smith and the Redskins’ offense were not overly effective, scoring only 16 points.

Josh Doctson found the endzone, while the boot of Dustin Hopkins were good enough to secure the win. Washington have control of the NFC East and are slowly edging towards the playoffs. Another victory would take them to 7-3 and within striking distance of the division crown.

Houston are also attempting to win their division, although they face stiffer competition in the AFC South. Bill O’Brien’s men return to action fresh from their bye week and on a six-game winning run.

Deshaun Watson has been improving every week as he continues to get back into shape following his ACL tear last season. The Texans have the talent to win the game, but Washington have been playing solid complementary football. Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts

The Titans were outstanding last week on both sides of the ball to see of the New England Patriots on home soil. Their victory has left them with a 5-4 record and within striking distance of the Texans at the top of the AFC South.

Their mettle will be tested by Andrew Luck and the Colts’ offense. Luck has been brilliant since his return from injury, throwing for three or more touchdowns in his last six games.

The 28-year-old is playing at an elite level with not a great deal of talent around him. Luck has not lost a game against the Titans since he was drafted in 2012. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New York Giants

The Buccaneers somehow managed to score only three points in their defeat to the Redskins despite compiling 500 yards of offense. Tampa Bay have the best unit in the NFL in terms of yards, but it has not translated into results on the field. Dirk Koetter’s men have lost three matches on the bounce and are almost surely out of contention for the post-season due to the competition in the NFC South.

They’ve been unable to play complementary football throughout the term, meaning their solid performances on offense have been met by putrid outings from the defense and vice versa. On talent alone they should be able to see off the Giants even if they are on the road.

New York were able to grind out their second win of the campaign. The Giants were just able to edge out the San Francisco 49ers on the road, although Pat Shurmur’s men did receive a beneficial call to secure their victory.

Carolina Panthers @ Detroit Lions

The Panthers were on the receiving end of a hammering at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers last time out. Pittsburgh scored 52 points to stick the boot in on Ron Rivera’s men. Cam Newton had a rare poor outing this season, throwing an early pick-six that handed the home side momentum.
